My most recent project
STEAM INNOVATION LAB AT LAVAL SENIOR
With the help of lab technician Martin Cavanagh, I beautified, inventoried, and equipped an abandoned robotics room (abandoned for 3 years). We created a makerspace suited for a variety of STEAM applications. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. The idea was to create a space that could serve as an interdisciplinary playground to encourage critical thinking.
A number of students attend weekly exploratory sessions where they learn about 3D printing, VR, and programming; a robotics team meets regularly to plan for future competitions, and theatre and arts concentrations meet to develop artistic technological components for theatre productions. It was a missing component of the school that has allowed for ambitious students to find a safe space to learn, explore, and collaborate.
A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.
